Green with Envy

Niner Air 9 RDOHmmmm... So last night was team night at Golden Bike Shop. Team night is a night that GBS puts together for the teams they sponsor so team members get a chance at getting pro deals on equipment for the season. It's a great night and an awesome opportunity for those of us needing or wanting equipment. Vendors and suppliers come to show their latest and greatest wares and answer questions, let us try stuff on, help us compare products. It's a great night!

As with the previous year, Aaron from Niner Bikes came down from Fort Collins to answer questions. He's a good guy, I've ridden with him a couple of times and every time I ride up in the Fort I'm hoping to run into the 9er guys.

Road to Recovery

It's been about 10 weeks since I broke my collar bone. The first four weeks there was some pretty intense pain. It is hard to describe though. I have some friends who had to take some heavy duty pain killers when they broke their collar bone, some had surgery. I can say for me it was the most intense pain I have felt for that duration of time ever. I never took pain meds though other than some ibuprofen to help with swelling and some Aleve once or twice. Every week the pain has become less, every week my range of motion has gotten closer to normal.

At about 8 weeks I had more x-rays that showed new bone calcification, but definitely showed the injury to be very fragile still. I had been riding the trainer since about two weeks after my injury and by 8 weeks I was doing sustained efforts on the trainer. Overall fitness is okay, endurance has definitely dropped though.

Clearing the Garage Time

As with previous seasons I'm starting the new year realizing I have too many bikes that get little or no ride time. So it is time to clear out my favorite bike that got me hooked on Niner Bikes. Please see the Ebay post for details and note that it is for the Denver Colorado area only.
