1st "Hundo" of the year coming up!

Mike Berg Actually 102.47 miles at the second Bailey Hundo. Last year did not fair so well for me when I hit a tree stump that I didn't see in the shadows of the trees and broke several toes right around mile 40. Hopefully this year goes better!
I've got good training in so far this year and have been mostly satisfied with my racing results. Yesterday I did the Winter Park Hill climb, a "mountain bike" race up the service road from the village up to the highest ski lift. I have done zero high altitude training this year and as I pedaled from 9080 ft to the finish at 11,142 ft I felt like total crap. I couldn't muster the power to fight off challengers and could barely do more than pedal squares the entire time. I did have a respectable finish time of 44:29, but I was shooting for under 40 minutes.
Today was a first DNS (Did Not Start) at the Ridgeline Rampage. After pre-riding it the other weekend I wasn't looking forward to six laps around a 10 mile course, I've done one of those already and really is not what I look for in an endurance race.
Even with the DNS, I've done 7 races already this season. Have I bitten off more than I can chew? I'm not sure yet. One thing that is become more apparent though is racing is a lot more fun than training!
